Only You can direct me there, and no man on earth can teach me the way...

Here I am embarrassed, Lord... 

I do not know if I am lost and if I should retrace my steps...

take the path to the right, to the left, or in front of me... 

this road has not yet been practiced... 

I do not see anyone but You Who can direct me. 

Hasten therefore to show Yourself to me. 

Give me Your hand, so that I do not persist here without help... 

that I retreat if I get lost... 

and that I advance with great strides... 

if I go to the cross that I desire. 

Tell me by what surer means I shall arrive... 

at the place where it is erected for me.

So I said... 

and Your heart moved closer to mine... 

You lowered yourself to my weakness... 

and You made me feel Your presence.'
