The meaning of death
-Kizito Mihigo-
There is nothing worse than death (2x)
But what a páth for us, a path to good
The greater good.
2x
-
Death is the door that leads to God, the Creator
But in order to get that door open
The summoning Voice
of God is required.
In Kinyarwanda, 'dying' is:
'to respond to God's summoning'.
3x
There is nothing worse than death (2x)
But what a páth for us, a path to good
The greater good.
-
There is no such thing as 'a good death'
Be it by genocide or war
Slaughtered in revenge
Vanished in an accident
Or by illness.
Those loved ones
are praying for us.
3x
There is nothing worse than death (2x)
But what a páth for us, a path to good
The greater good.
-
Even though Genocide orphaned me
Let it not make me lose empathy for others
Their lives, too, were brutally taken
But not qualified as Genocide
Those brothers and sisters
They, too, are humans
I pray for them
Those brothers and sisters
They, too, are humans
I comfort them
Those brothers and sisters
They, too, are humans
I remember them
There is nothing worse than death (2x)
But what a páth for us, a path to good
The greater good.
-
My dignity and love
Is not rooted in carnal life
Nor in material possessions
But in humanness
Let 'I am Rwandan'
Be preceded by
'I am human'
3x
There is nothing worse than death (2x)
But what a páth for us, a path to good
The greater good.
-
The understanding of my Salvation
Is my staff in my life's journey
I was saved by faith
Faith that I have in Jesus Christ
That Christianity
fulfills me as Rwandan
3x
There is nothing worse than death (2x)
But what a páth for us, a path to good
The greater good.
-
Death joins people
to God Who created them
And who live in the Agape Love
of the Father
That Love is my thirst
That my life longs for
That Love is my thirst
Is the hope of Eternal Life
That Love is my thirst
Is the direction to Eternal Life
Amen!
There is nothing worse than death (2x)
But what a páth for us, a path to good
The greater good.
