blijven
Als tegenstelling van dood...
kennen we leven.

Your feelings...
they are not something that you can trust hundred percent.
What you feel, or what you see, or what you hear, your senses and all your experience, you cannot trust that hundred percent too. Who is telling us not to trust it hundred percent? Who, which Prophet is telling us, not to trust it hundred percent? Which Prophet? Hz Ibrahim (AS)!
He saw the sun rise with his senses, and he’s understanding the sun, in so many different cultures they worship the sun, no, because without the sun there is no life. Did he read any books? Did he do any research? Did he Google? No, he knew that immediately, the source of life. He says, ‘that must be Lord.’ But the sun sets, and he says, ‘no, that’s not my Lord.’ He didn’t trust his senses, or his intelligence.
The moon rose, and if you still don’t understand the importance of the moon, and how without the moon's gravitational pull this whole world will be in disaster, then I cannot say too much, but he’s saying, when the moon is rising, ‘this must be my Lord.’ Then the moon set, and he says, ‘no, my Lord doesn’t rise and set.’ No matter how important, how big, how powerful the thing is, it doesn’t rise and set.
And showing us from that time, six thousand years until now, with all your intelligence, with all your ilham, with all your inspiration, with all your openings, you understand, not just intelligence but all your heart openings, you cannot trust it a hundred percent, you need a guide.
You need a guide.
Then, you will be a little more balanced.
Because then, you understand what is right and wrong, according to the lens of belief, according to the vision of Allah, not according to fashion, or what the world is saying, or what the political ideology is saying, what economics is saying.
Because this is a big deal.
If you live in the capitalist democratic West, your understanding of things is completely different.
If you live in a communist country, your understanding is different, you even smile differently. If you live in a country that is totalitarian, and they squeeze all their citizens, and they have no hope, even if you take those citizens and put them in a place of hope, they will still have that scar.
It takes some time to get rid of it.
Whether individual groups...
or whole nations...
whatever you have gone through, there is still a scar.
Which means, that you have to go through some sort of spiritual therapy, you understand, you cannot just take them out and put them over there. That means there has to be a guide, there has to be someone talking you through it.
They’re going to say, ‘No, no, no, I don’t trust.’
You say, ‘No, this person is not like that.’
‘I don’t trust!’
‘No, this person is not like that.’
You have to talk.
You have to spend time.
Thát was, what the Prophets they were doing.
That’s what the Saints, they were doing.
-
Everyone is scarred.
Everyone is broken, yes?
Everyone has gone through experiences.
What are they doing, these Prophets and Saints?
They are putting faith back into these broken hearts to your Creator.
You think that’s an easy thing, when a person gives up on this life, gives up on all of humanity, they have been taken advantage of, they are broken, and they are abused. And Allah is still calling, and they’re still running. And when they find someone who can help them, they are so grateful.
But it’s not an easy work, to patch up a heart.
How do you do that?
That, you have to look at how the Prophets and the Saints they’re doing it.
You cannot find it in books.
Definitely.

What Prophet ﷺ wanted...
was a completion of a holy heart.
It means, “Qalb al mu’min Baitullah”,
“The heart of the believer is the House of the Lord.”
[Hadith Qudsi]
The whole knowledge of the lataif (subtle energy points) of the heart is actually the realities of Baitullah (House of Allah AJ). That Allah (AJ) wants us to understand, I sent áll these Prophets to complete my House. So, that the believer would have a House of Allah (AJ), that is kamil and perfected.
And éach Prophet is like a wall for the house, until its completion and its crowing in the reality in the arrival of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. He comes to complete the Holy House of Allah (AJ) that is within évery insan (human being).
So, it means...
that in these days of Muharram, its Baab al Maghfirah (Door of Forgiveness)... That there are 12 hijabs (veils) and awliyaullah are moving... Common people move through Surah one, Fatiha, Opening...
The Khawas, and whom Allah (AJ) gave to them a reality, they move from Baab at Tawbah (Door of Repentance), 9, in the power of 9. As soon as Muharram opens, they’re moving through Surat ul-Tawbah [Soera Het berouw].
And what Allah (AJ) wants from them, sacrifice yourself through this gate. It means put your bad character at the door, and ask for Allah’s (AJ) true maghfirah, and forgiveness.
In theír knowledges that they teach...
they want us to understand that when Muharram opens, and the gates of Forgiveness open, then on the tenth day of that first month, Allah (AJ) grants a maghfirah and forgiveness, a najat (salvation)...
And évery nation was granted a najat on ‘Ashura!
That says an Ash-e-Nurah, a time in which Allah (AJ) sends immense light!
And what évery nation has to do with nation of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, is that Prophet ﷺ brings the kamil, the perfécted, the lást of this entire reality of the House. It brings the perfected character, teaching that without your good character and accompanying kamil [perfect] Shaykhs... to teach you that EACH Prophet is important for your reality.
Don’t negate a Prophet !
Ootherwise your House is not kamil [pefect].

Q: In Surah Ar-Rahman [55:3] , Allah (SWT) taught man bayan, how does He intend us to use it?
A: We don’t have that ability to speak...
I don’t want to get into Tafsir, but that ayat is specifically talking about the Holy Prophet (AS), it’s not teaching about man speaking. Because everything speaks, everything speaks, right? Now scientists are discovering even trees they speak to each other. What more are they going to discover?
They are going to discover that so-called inanimate objects also can speak and communicate with each other, everything speaks... So what is this speech, that Allah (SWT) is talking about?
“And He taught man how to talk, He taught man speech.” [55:3]
What speech?
What is 'bayan'?
Bayan is specific, no?
There are other words in Arabic that He could use, but He used 'bayan'. Bayan was sohbet, zikr. Same thing when He said iqra, 'read!'... He didn’t stop there...
And in that ayat, in that surah, what is that bayan, what is that speech? What is that ayat, what is that speech that Allah (SWT) is repeating over and over again in Surat-ul-Rahman?...
“Whichever of the favors of your Lord can you deny” !
-
The Prophet (AS), one of his names is Shakir...
Sayyidina Shakir...
The one who is always giving thanks.
Never complaining.
The bayan, 'whichever of the favors of your Lord can you deny?'...
The man who is following in the footsteps of the Prophet (AS) and the AhlulBayt...
they will look at every opportunity to find the favor of their Lord.
-
What is our Sheykh saying, what is Allah asking from us?
Nothing.
Except to give thanks.
To give shukur.
Not when you have things, when you don’t have things, not when you have health, when you have disease. To give shukur in every situation.
Not to ask for tests, but to give shukur.
To be happy.
To give shukur is to be happy.
-
If there’s a little kidm and the little kid just says, ‘thank you mama!’, you get so happy, it doesn’t matter if it’s this or that, just to hear the kid saying thank you, you get so happy. Especially kids, they just take, take, take. Right?
And when they actually say 'thank you', you feel so nice. What do you want to do? You want to give more! And Allah in that whole surah is talking: from the highest to the lowest, you’re going to find your Lord. So now we must look for our Lord and our Lords favor.
-
What is our Lords favor?
What is His biggest favor to us?
Well, the biggest favor is the Prophet (AS)...
and then for us, where we are, the biggest favor is to have the Inheritor.
What does the Inheritor of the Prophet do?
He gives bayan!
He gives sohbet!
Yes?
May Allah make us to be in their circle, insya'Allah, never to lift their feet from our necks. And to always look for the favors of our Lord with those eyes, and to be happy.
May Allah forgive me and bless you.
Al Fatiha.
Amin.

louter gunst
-
De zon en de maan
doorlopen hun banen volgens het plan
en planten en bomen
aanbidden Hem.
Hij heeft de hemel hoog erboven verheven
en een evenwicht bepaald
opdat gij het evenwicht
niet zoudt verstoren.
Houdt de weegschaal naar recht
en doet aan maat niet tekort.
En Hij heeft de aarde
voor Zijn schepselen gemaakt:
daarop zijn vruchten
en palmbomen met scheden
en gebolsterd graan
en geurige bloemen.
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
-
Hij schiep de mens
uit droge klei, als aardewerk.
En Hij schiep de djinn
uit de vlam van Vuur.
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
-
De Heer van de twee Oosten
en de Heer van de twee Westen!
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
-
Hij heeft de twee zeeën gescheiden
die elkander eens zullen ontmoeten.
Daartussen is een versperring geplaatst
welke zij niet kunnen passeren.
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
Er komen paarlen en koraal
uit beide zeeën vandaan.
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
En van Hem zijn
de bergenhoge schepen op zee.
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
-
-
Al hetgeen is
zal vergaan.
Elk dag toont Hij
een andere Heerlijkheid.
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
-
Wij zullen spoedig met u afrekenen,
o gij twee volkeren!
-
Maar er zullen voor hem,
die het verschijnen voor zijn Heer vreest...
...twee tuinen zijn
van verschillende soort.
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
In beide
zullen twee fonteinen stromen.
-
En naast deze twee
zijn er nog twee tuinen.
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
Donkergroen van gebladerte.
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
Daarin zullen ook twee bronnen zijn,
die water in overvloed spuiten.
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
In beide zullen er vruchten,
dadels en granaatappels zijn.
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
Daarin zullen goede en schone meisjes zijn.
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
Schonen...
in paviljoenen gehuisvest...
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
...die vóór hen mensen noch djinn
hebben aangeraakt.
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
Rustend op groene kussens
en prachtige tapijten.
Welke van de gunsten van uw Heer
wilt gij dan ontkennen?
Gezegend zij
de naam van uw Heer,
de Bezitter
van Heerlijkheid en Eer.

In Islam, Muhammad used kohl...
and recommended others to use it, because he believed that it was beneficial for the eyes, based on the following saying by him:
"One of the best kinds of kohl that you use is Ithmid (antimony).
It brightens the vision, and makes the hair (eye-lashes) grow."
And he
"used to apply kohl to his right eye three times
and to his left eye twice."
It is used by many Muslim men today...
during Ramadan, as a sign of devotion...
although the practice is not universally agreed upon...
as being based on authentic sources.

asjoera 2-
Worship Allah (swt)...
as much as you can on Ashura.
Whoever fasts on this day, is like one who fasts all his life.
Whoever clothes a naked person, Allah (swt) will release him from a painful punishment.
He who visits a sick person, Allah (swt) will grant him a reward, that will not be decreased.
Whoever places his hand on an orphan’s head...
or feeds a hungry person...
or gives water to a thirsty person...
Allah will feed him a feast from Paradise...
and will quench his thirst with Salsabil (a wine that does not intoxicate).
And who ever makes ghusl (great purification) on this day...
will enjoy excellent health and freedom from sickness and laziness.
Whoever provides generously for his family on this day...
Allah (swt) will be generous to him throughout this year.
And whoever 'applies kohl to his eyes'...
will never 'suffer from eye-sore again'.
Insha’Allah al-Aziz.

as much as you can on Ashura.
Whoever fasts on this day, is like one who fasts all his life.
Whoever clothes a naked person, Allah (swt) will release him from a painful punishment.
He who visits a sick person, Allah (swt) will grant him a reward, that will not be decreased.

When Joep Lange...
and his partner, Jacqueline van Tongeren...
died in 2014, his five devastated children had no clue what people were talking about when they discussed his incredible legacy. To give the children a better understanding of what their father did, and what he meant to Africa and the world...
the Joep Lange Institute took them to Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda in November 2016, to show them some of the projects that their father had initiated and worked on. The Joep Lange Institute hoped that they would see and feel, why the world was devastated by Joep’s death.
This film tells that story.

Joep Lange wrote an article...
for a booklet about research in Africa.
To honor Joep Lange...
TEDxAmsterdam would like to share his words with the world. Joep Lange was a leading AIDS researcher with love for the African continent, and a commitment to make health care accessible worldwide.
Joep helped shape the field, with his pioneering research on combination anti-retroviral therapy and mother-to-child transmission of HIV. His mission was to see people living with HIV in low-income countries receive the most effective available treatment.
His ideas and vision are definitely worth spreading.
So here's a tribute to this great gentleman."

In navolging...

We are not human beings
having a spiritual experience.
We are spiritual beings
having a human experience.
Allah (AJ) wants us to know...
that we come from the heavens.
We are a spiritual creation sent upon earth for the physical experience. What Allah (AJ) and what the Prophet (saws) brought for us, is a fine line, on how Shaitan tries to fool insan (the human being). Shaitan’s cleverness is like a line, that if he can’t pass that line on to people, they lose their reality and their understanding.
The Greatness of Allah ‘Azza wa Jal, greatness of the deen and the religion that Prophet (saws) brought, was a completion for humanity to complete the understanding of themselves. They are in need of all the prophets, the understanding of all the messengers, and the love that completes their reality.
Salah (daily prayer, 5x/day) hélps us...
to remember that.

Question:
We understand that guidance is from the soul...
Does guidance still come after death?
So, most definitely...
when you die, the whole existence is now coming, another set of understandings are coming.
There’s hayat al-barzakh, there’s a life within the grave, and many awliayullah (saints) their souls are able to teach those whom have passed, and many of their best students are the ones whom their body has passed, and their souls are present, and they give their spirituality to the Shaykh and to the Tariqa (spiritual path).
Means that once the body goes, Allah (AJ) has these representative that can go to graveyards, and they don’t worship the dead, they call the dead. For Malak al-mawt (angel of death) goes to them, and says, ‘Allah (AJ) is offering you, do you want to be of service? What you did not accomplish in your dunya, and that your light is not of a frequency of any value, do you wish to be of service, and Allah (AJ) grant you his eternity.’
There must always be a deal. Allah (AJ) not giving anything for free...
But Allah’s (AJ) Rahmah [mercy] is beyond his punishment. On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him)... who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When Allah decreed the Creation, He pledged Himself by writing in His book which is laid down with Him: 'My mercy prevails over my wrath'... It was related by Muslim, also by al-Bukhari, an-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah.
So, its always gotta be a deal. You don’t just hand it out... He sends a representative to the grave as a Rahmah, that you didn’t achieve it, I want to give it to you. You’re created out of love, but be of service. Those they come with no nafs (ego) into service, they come in the associations, and in the energy of the association. They have no nafs, and they build their energy at an immense speed.
They do all their zikrs (chantings), all their awrads (daily practices), and their lights become like stars. So that what? That their support in the association makes the energy to become stronger and stronger!
And in last days, Allah (AJ) opens more and more of that reality, because it becomes a nejat (salvation) for those who are living, becomes a help for those whom are living that, ‘Ya Rabbi we’re coming under more and more attack’.
As they reach their guidance, as they reach their rijal and their sainthood, because no more nafs, their lights are all around protecting. And that’s all we can say on that subject.
InshaAlla

Follow your Sheykh, that guide.
His job is for you to understand and for you to learn how to clean yourself, and to bring you to your Lord clean. That is the job he has been given from Holy Prophet (AS), because that was the job of the Holy Prophet (AS), and that was the job of all Prophet.
And the Evliyaullah, they keep their Promise. Following the guide, you will see faith and hope in this world and hereafter. Separation from that guide, it will cause bitterness to enter into every sweetness that you have.
As Ghawth Abu Madyan is saying:
“Where is the good taste of life...
except in the Sohbet of the Fuqara?
They are the Masters, the Sultans, the Ameers.”
-
The association, the Sohbet of the Sheykh, it shows us ourselves, it shows us our Lord, it takes us out from this time that is belonging to the lowest of the low, and it’s putting us to the time that is belonging to Allah.
And it’s teaching us how to live, and how to pass in a way that is pleasing with Allah. And when Allah is happy with us, we will experience the sweetness in every bitterness that we go through here, and the sweetness that is promised for us in the Hereafter.
We say it is bitterness...
if it means separation from You.

Who is not losing?
The companions of the Prophet (AS), they are not losing.
They are people of Sohbet, the People of Association. Holy Prophet (AS) is making this clear in his Hadith Sherif, where he said: “Isn’t the world cursed, and isn’t everything in it cursed? Except for Zikrullah and what helps it, and the Person of Knowledge, and the Student.” [Tirmizi].
Zikrullah, the remembrance of Allah, remembering His favors, remembering His tests, to be grateful, to hold on, it connects a man to his Lord. That man realizes, that his time it is with his Lord, his existence is with his Lord.
The Person of Knowledge, not book knowledge, not internet knowledge, the person who has knowledge of himself, and knowledge of his Lord, that one worships. And the student is trying to learn from the Person of Knowledge, how to return to his Lord.
This is Tarikat. And this is the way of safety from the curse of dunya. This is the way of safety from the curse of our ego, from the curse of our desires, from the curse of sheytan and fitna.

Allah, Jibrail said, gave women five angelic qualities...
which men rarely have:
1
They are the source of peace.
As Allah said that He created them 'so that you might find rest in them' [30:21].
This... is the attribute of the First Paradise, which is named 'the Abode of Peace'.
Dar ul-Salam.
2
They are oasis of constancy.
In the midst of chaos and change.
That is why they give birth.
As the mother nurtures and shelters the baby more reliably than the father.
This... is the attribute of the Second Paradise.
Which is named 'the Abode of Constancy.'
3
They perpetuate generations.
Through their offspring, Allah creates angelic prophets and saints...
who establish His perpetual remembrance on earth.
As the angels establish it in heaven.
This... is the attribute of the Third Paradise.
Which is named 'the Abode of Eternity.'
4
They are generous and bountiful.
They are described as 'a fertile land' in all Scriptures.
Because they give without counting, including life.
They sacrifice themselves for the sake of another creation.
And this... is the attribute of the Fourth Paradise.
Which is named 'the Sheltering Garden.'
5
Finally, they are the source of beauty.
Through their softness and subtlety, Allah has crowned the earth...
with the diadem of angelic grace.
This is the attribute of the Fifth Paradise.
Which is named 'the Garden of Beauty and Delight'.
Blessings and Peace on Nabi Muhammad ﷺ ...
his Family, and his Companions.
Please share.

Jibrail continued:
"Women are not created weaker...
but more generous than men.
They are created more beautiful and less fierce [fel, woest], as beauty hates to hurt and harm others.
That is why they seem weak to people, but in reality they are not. Angels are the strongest of created beings, and women are closer to the angelic nature than men, as they are readier than men to carry angelic light.
It is the good manners and ethics of spirituality which they carry...
which makes them less forceful [krachtig] than men.
Even physically, however, they are extremely strong. They undergo great upheavals in their body without flinching for the sake of childbirth, and face the direst physical conditions more successfully than men, because Allah has enabled them to insure the survival of generations."

"The light of this Paradise is the source of the angelic lights of all women on earth...
"Women have been created to carry the secret of creation in themselves. Allah has honoured them greatly, by making their wombs the repository [opslagplaats] of His word which represents the Spirit. He looks at the most sacred place, and there descends His mercy and blessings...
"He perfected that place, and covered it with three protective layers, to shelter it from any damage:
1 The first is a layer of light.
2 The second a layer of love.
3 And the third a layer of beauty.
There He fashions and creates human beings after His likeness, as Nabi Muhammad (pbuh) said: 'Allah created Adam after His likeness.' He orders the angels of the womb to perfect His creation by giving the baby life, beauty, health, intelligence, and all kinds of perfect attributes, that will make each one distinguished among human beings."

Nabi [profeet] Muhammad ﷺ travelled...
for five hundred thousand light-years...
after which he arrived at the Fifth Paradise, which is called Jannat al-Naïm, 'the Garden of Beauty and Felicity.' Its door is made of mixed gold and silver from heaven.
Jibrail knocked at the door and a voice said: "Who is it?"
"Jibrail, bringing Muhammad (pbuh)."
"Has he been sent for?"
"Yes."
"Welcome, Beloved one, to the fifth paradise!"
The door opened, and Nabi Muhammad (pbuh) saw five beautiful ladies, whose radiant light among their servants made them appear like diamonds surrounded by pearls. His heart was moved towards them.
He asked Jibrail: "Who are these ladies?"
He answered: "This is Hawwa (Eve), the mother of human beings, this is the Virgin Maryam (Mary), the mother of Isa (Jesus), this is Musa's (Moses') mother Yukabid, and this is Assia, the wife of Pharaoh."
The fifth lady looked like a sun among stars. Her light shone over the rest of the inhabitants of that Paradise like a gentle breeze passing through the tree-leaves. Jibrail said: "This is an angel representing your daughter Fatima ah Zahra عليه السلام "

36 : 9 = 4
Allah (AJ) wants to test me...
to bring out a reality.
Those whom are from Ahle taffakur (people of contemplation), they have to contemplate that “Ya musabbibal asbab,” that Allah (AJ) is the one who brings a condition. So brings an incident.
You have a fight with your spouse. The fight that comes out, and the beginning of all the reactions, we’ll call that the ‘Issue’, like the 36. The fight, that Allah (AJ) is the one who causes, he writes for a condition to happen. That a spark will come.
Then this is only about me. Not about the spouse, not about anyone else. Because I’m on a path to mý grave. I don’t need to know your station, your grave, I need to know mý grave.
So, when an issue happens in my life, and I divide that by mé, the resulting answer will come out of a characteristic. So, I take the fight, I divide it by me, and what came out, will be the result, and that’s why... - "Ya musabbibal asbab, ya mufattihul abwab", O Opener of doors! - ...Allah will open a door, if you understood what came out of you, as a result of that imtihan (test).
-
A condition happens in life...
a fight between spouses, between children, between employer...
it doesn’t really matter.
The fight, the situation was brought into my life, it came to me. As a result, what happened? I became angered, I began to say things from my mouth, I began to say all these issues from my mouth... Allah (AJ) wants thát.
What happened as a result of a test that came to you, from the equal [gelijkheidsteken] side, not the issue that we fought. No, cause Allah (AJ), He would make ány condition to happen.
Because 99.9% of the people are stuck on the íssue. That we fought because you talked in a bad way to me. But as soon as we started to fight, I started to use swear words, I cursed you, screamed at you, all the words I used at you, thát’s what Allah’s (AJ) concerned. Nót that you guys started to fight.
“Musabbibal asbab”... Of course Allah’s (AJ) going to ignite a situation, boom, hit it. Soon as it hít you, Allah (AJ) wants you to study the reaction. Your reward is in the reaction, and not the issue. But 99% of the people is now, ‘Why you said that to me? If you wouldn’t have talked like this to me, we wouldn’t have fought.’
I said, but you lost the focus! Allah’s (AJ) testing us. He wanted a situation in which we got angered. As a result, he wanted to see how do you reáct in this anger. Because the way of tazkiyah (purification) is not something simple.
When Allah (AJ) wants to bring something that’s hidden within me...
and I don’t even think it exists.
-
So, then the majority of people...
are stuck on the íssue.
‘Why you talk to me like that? Why you said like that to me?’ And there’s no growth, there’s no reality in that at all. That’s where all humanity will árgue, the íssue. ‘Why you did like that? No, it was your fault, you started like that. No, no you started like that.’
Tazkiyah comes and says, ‘No, no leave that whole thingI It doesn’t matter!’ This person in your life, the more loved, the more easier it is for Allah (AJ) to push your button. It can’t be the mailman. You don’t care what the mailman says. It’s your children, loved ones, mothers, parents, relatives, somebody whom is dear to you... is the one Allah’s (AJ) pushing the button.
He hit, and a rocket goes.
-
So, then the tazkiyah comes...
And teaches, that when you got angry, and you said 1, 2, 3, 4 horrible things...
Allah (AJ) hold you to account that’s, that’s the issue, why you said these things like that?... Because when He makes a condition, and opens the door... - not only the door of paradise, but the door to your self - ...that these words you use when you fight, these things that we say when we fight and we angered, Allah (AJ) wants those to be cleaned.
Allah (AJ) says, ‘These words that you úse, when you become angry, if your words were bad, imagine what’s in your heart is worse.' Because, maybe you say, ‘No, I was just angry with you, I didn’t mean to say that.’ But no, tariqah (spiritual path) comes and Allah (AJ) is inspiring within our heart, no, no as a matter of fact, Allah (AJ) says, ‘It’s far wórse!’
“Hatred has already appeared from their mouths,
and what their hearts conceal is far worse.
We have made plain to you the signs,
if you have wisdom.”
[Family of Imran, 3:118]
Whatever they said from their mouth, is nothing compared to what’s really in their heart. And every time they get angry, the sáme words keep coming out, ‘You’re like this, you’re like this, you’re like this.’ No coincidence you say those things! It’s what’s in your heart is far more greater disrespect and anger for that person.
So, it’s never the issue. That’s why all humanity is on the wróng part of this equation. If you want the secret of 36, you don’t just keep staring at 36! 36 divided by 9, brings a secret of 4. So, there’s a secret in that reality.
“Ya musabbibal asbab,” Allah (AJ) puts it “mufattihul abwab” is on the equations side. If you want the goal, you want the secret, you want the reality, it’s on the other side with the equation.
We got angered, got into a fight, and Allah (AJ) trained you, ‘Don’t say anything.’ What you start to repeat, what you begin to say, how you’re reacting, there’s the reward. It doesn’t matter what the person did, 'why you said like that?'... That’s not important. Because Állah’s (AJ) bringing that condition!
And Allah (AJ) wants you to reach a point in which your reaction is not like that. Your reaction is just to remain silent. Hmm, okay, angered, because the person’s angry... But the words that you’re using, the phrases that you’re saying, the expressions that are coming out, Allah (AJ) showing the condition within the héart!
That you are on a path of tazkiyah, you are on a path of goodness, you are on a path of good characteristics, then why all these horrible things come out? ‘Oh! because the person bothered me.’ No, no, no, that’s not the way the tariqah looks at it.
Állah (AJ) wrote the plan, Allah (AJ) brought the condition.
He wants to bring oút a reward!
Are you álways going to fall back on all these bad issues, that are coming out from your heart, coming out from your mouth? Or do we take a path in which our life is to identify that. Once you identify, and say that I said, ‘You’re this, I said you’re rotten’...You’re with a friend, you may get into an argument, and you say some rotten things, ‘Yeah you think you’re like this, because you have this car, because you have like money, you have like this, like this’...
Once you identified, ‘Okay, it’s not the issue for me to worry about, Allah’s (AJ) going to make me to argue with anybody he wants me to argue with.’
When I identify what I was saying, and I write that down, that’s called accounting, “muhasabah,” muhasabah. So, it means, when we are the people of tafakkur, we stop, we realize Allah’s (AJ) going to test us, every argument is going to bring out my contamination (besmetting, bederf).
-
When Allah (AJ) bothered Shaitan, He found he’s not making sujood (prostration), everything he did was from pride. One test from Allah (AJ), that ‘Bów down!’, he said, ‘No!’ It wasn’t the argument that was important, but his tafakkur should have said that, ‘I’m not going to bow down.’ Then Allah would have pointed out, ‘You know why you don’t bow down, it’s cause you’re jealous. He got a station you thought you were going to get.’
So, if we’re not identifying the right part of the formula, not the issue, why we got into argument, who cares why we got into argument, a dog could have been thrown in the argument. But the reaction that you had, the words that you used, if you write those... that becomes your muhasabah.
You write your reactions, you write the words that you use, when I fought this person, when I argued with this person. These words will show your character defect. Majority of people have jealousy. So, they use words that you can tell those are jealous words.
Enmity, they wish they had what you had. All of these characteristics will come out with this muhasabah and accounting. What words I use, I write that down.
-
Then I begin to meditate.
‘Why I said like this to this person?’
And Allah (AJ) inspire your heart these are words of jealousy. You’re jealous of this person. Maybe they achieve something you didn’t, maybe they are something in your eyes that you’re not. Whatever it is Allah (AJ) said, ‘That’s what’s important.’
...
We can’t change the condition.
‘Talk to me nicer when we get together. You’re always rude when you talk to me’...
That’s not what Allah (AJ) said.
Allah (AJ) said,
‘You change yourself,
I will change the condition around you.’
“Indeed Allah will not change the condition of a people
until they change what is in themselves.” [The Thunder, 13:11]
Because the reverse is the same:
‘You’re not changing yourself,
and I’m not changing your condition.’
Because you’re playing now, being stubborn with Allah (AJ), ‘I’m not gonna change.’ And Allah’s (AJ) saying, ‘I’m not changing your condition. As a matter of fact, I’m going to send 10 people to be rude to you, 10 people to talk bad to you, 10 people that insult you.’ Why you want something, maybe you didn’t identify, you have pride that you have all these characteristics.
-
So, then again in summary...
Állah (AJ) makes a condition to happen. I divide that by me, not the other person, not anyone else. Allah (AJ) wants to test me, what is that test about? What comes out of it? My words. These words, if I am true to myself and write them, contemplate on these words, you’ll find the characteristic.
Those faults and bad characteristics, if you address them and identify them, acknowledge your sickness by them, Allah (AJ) begin to change your condition. Because you realized yourself, ‘Ya Rabbi, I’m a jealous person, take this desire from my eyes. Don’t let me to be jealous of people.’
There’s a remedy for every sickness. When I have enmity, when I have anger, when I have pride, there are ways in which to work on that characteristic. We pray that Allah (AJ) dress us and bless us and give us a correct understanding.
So, 36 divided by 9...
brings out the secret of 4.
36 = 9 x 4

What a sad state of affairs for the Muslims.
Keeping the calendar, yes, it looks like a small thing.
But in reality, it is a big thing.
Because the Muslims, we don’t just have a separate identity. We have a Divine Identity. The Muslims have always had a separate, Divine identity. In every place that Islam went, even if the Muslims were few in number, they kept their own Divine identity.
And by keeping that identity, they kept their honor and their heybat. You keep your own calendar. You keep your own food. You keep your own dress. You keep your way of praying. You keep your way of conducting your family affairs.
And when the Muslims acted like that...
people admired them and wanted to be like them.
O Believers !
Our New Year is coming !
The intelligent man must ask himself, ‘did I become better or worse?’
It is such a simple question. But it is the most difficult question to answer. Because to answer that question, a man must be sincere. Because to answer that question, the sincere man will realize, ‘just as I cannot look at my own face without a mirror, I must find a mirror to help me look at my faith.’
And those mirrors, they are the Friends of Allah. Don’t trust your own mirror. If we want to know how we did this year, we must go to a Friend of Allah and put our heart in front of his heart. Because the hearts of the Friends of Allah, their hearts are mirrors that have been polished and they are clean.
When we sit with them, we will see the reality of our state.
And by sitting with them, they will teach us...
the Way of cleaning our heart.
