By not permitting debilitated [verzwakte] couples to procreate... 

we managed to select four who could serve as reproducers in laboratories... 

and even in the most inhospitable conditions, we managed to have three perfect children... 

generated from them. 

Raised in the jungles... 

not knowing the benefits that their ancestors had enjoyed... 

the little ones began a new society.

Like us, they spoke very little. 

We had long given up the spoken language and had chosen brain-to-brain transmission, thanks to the good performance of extra-cerebral receivers provided by the great technological monster that supported us. After that, it was very difficult to start speaking again, and some never managed to do so. 

One of the coordinator groups took on the task of telling the story of what had happened to the terrestrials in symbols that were used for communication at that time. 

This was done in order to pass history down to the new humans, who were already starting to have children. A new biological chain began, with a shift in the genetic code. 

This is the story of the race of those who live in the depths of the Earth. The race of those who, in order to rise out of the ashes of a civilization, had to bear much more than you have had to undergo. It is told here and could serve as a basis for today’s humans, if they wish to take advantage of these experiences. 

While the world on the surface was falling apart through innumerable cataclysms... 

our civilization began to regenerate, gradually yet surely. 

The new Earth, inside the planet, bestowed [schonk] its resources on us in the same way that the previous one had done. However, there was a fundamental difference: it allowed us to start again from a point of no contamination. It was our ‘second chance’ of which philosophers spoke in the past. 

It was only then, that we realized how important these philosophers were. They knew more than any supermachine, and yet we had actually mocked them!
