It is time for Daniels to step forward to interpret Nebuchadnezzar’s dream to the Glory of God.

South Africa, with a garment of humility, it is time to step forward. 

When the three friends of Daniel refused to worship a statue Nebuchadnezzar had made... 

they told the king that they expected their God to deliver [verlossen,bevrijden] them. 

Immediately afterwards, they made a bold statement of commitment: 

‘But if not, let it be known to you, O king,

that we do not serve your gods,

This morning the Lord is calling the church TO ARISE...

I hear the Lord saying to the body of Christ:

Father Sílvio Moreira, a Portuguese priest... 

and João de Deus, a Mozambican-born priest...

were assassinated in 1985 at the Chapotera mission in Mozambique... 

because they were inconvenient witnesses to the atrocities of the civil war. 

The Bishop of Tete will begin the process for their cause to the sainthood on August 14th. 

Below is a translation of the article by the Portuguese Jesuit website, Ponto SJ.

Father Sílvio Moreira, a 44-year-old from Portugal... 

and Father João de Deus Gonçalves Kamtedza, a 54-year-old Mozambican... 

were brutally murdered on October 30th 1985, by an armed group that took them from their home in Chapotera, assaulted [aanvallen,aanranden] them and left their bodies abandoned in the forest.

Although the perpetrators of the homicide were never established, Bishop Diamantino Antunes of Tete believes the two missionaries were killed because they denounced [hekelden,veroordeelden] atrocities of the war, defended the dignity of the Angonian people and were, therefore, considered ´inconvenient witnesses´ to the abuses of political and law enforcement authorities. 

The diocese believes in their martyrdom, and will propose their canonization in a process set to begin on August 14th, 2021. ´The crime did not have religious motivations,´ Bishop Antunes told Ponto SJ. ´But martyrdom is not only about hatred of the faithm but also of virtues linked to faith, such as justice or charity.´

The bishop was visiting Portugal to gather information and testimonies, and to consult the archives of the Portuguese Jesuit province, in order to advance the cause of canonization for these two Jesuits. 

He talked with several Jesuits and informed them of what had already happened in the process, and of what still needs to be done to elevate the two priests to the condition of martyr.

Bishop Antunes highlights the virtues of the two missionaries, who were deeply committed to the pastoral care and dignity of the people they served, even when it meant denouncing the climate of violence that was being experienced in the region, and thereby put their own lives at risk. 

The existing records attest to their courage and their faithfulness to the people. Helping to bury the dead, even in the face of threats from the authorities, offering pastoral encouragement to communities, and administering the sacraments, sometimes in secret to avoid attracting the attention of the military forces... 

Marriage was an example of this, says the bishop of Tete, because the priests realised that after marriage, the army would come to recruit the groom for the war, leaving the wife on her own. Therefore, one started to celebrate them in secret.

Dear brothers and sisters, dzień dobry! [Good morning!]

I heartily welcome you to the tomb of the Apostle Peter, a few metres from the place of his martyrdom. Here we hear the clear and unceasing echo of his words: ´Lord, you know that I love you´ (cf. Jn 21:16). Here we are confronted with his strong and radical witness.

Your presence here is also a testimony. Testimony to your faith and your love for the Church. It is a beautiful manifestation of your spiritual stature and of your love for the Popet to whom the Lord, in His infinite Mercy, has today entrusted the ministry of Saint Peter.

I thank you for your desire to meet the Pope. 

For your numerous, varied and festive company.

For your openness to the Pope’s Magisterium: 

I know that during the years of the Pastoral Synod of your diocese, you read the documents of my Magisterium attentively. 

I thank you in particular for your prayers for the Pope’s intentions. I too pray for you, and I am ready to listen to you very carefully. This is the aim of the current course of the Synod of Bishops, on the theme “For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation and Mission”. Its first stage, the diocesan stage, is now drawing to a close, also in your diocese. I hope that you have not only committed yourselves to this Synod, but that you have also already enjoyed the experience, rediscovering the beauty of ecclesial communion, of living the faith together, of taking mutual responsibility for one another, of sharing with others the experience of God, even with those who are apparently distant or think differently.

The pilgrimage is also a beautiful image of the synodal Church, which actually walks the ways of the Apostles together, as a family of sisters and brothers, from different parishes and different communities and ecclesial groups: priests and lay faithful, married and consecrated persons. 

There are many young people here, full of strength and enthusiasm, including many university students. There are scouts, there are also homeless and disabled people.

I am very glad that the civil authorities are with you: the president of the Regional Council, the Voivode and the mayor of the city of Łódź.

I feel great joy to see such a numerous representation of brothers and sisters belonging to other Christian Churches. 

I warmly greet the Orthodox bishop and the Calvinist bishop. I greet the members of the Łódź section of the Polish Ecumenical Council, present here with their president. I know that your presence here and your joint prayer in Rome form part of your continual and daily relations and ecumenical activities. Your communion in diversity is a sign of synodality: it is synodality in deeds.

Dear friends, you have come on pilgrimage to Rome to conclude the centenary Jubilee of your Diocese. 

During this Jubilee Year you have recalled the beginnings of your Church, especially your first Bishop, Wincenty Tymieniecki. He was a man of great mercy and great ecumenical sensitivity. Through his episcopal ministry the Holy Spirit has inscribed these two essential aspects of Christianity - Mercy and Ecumenism - in the “DNA” of your Church in Łódź, as a legacy and task for generations to come.

-

Today mercy requires great ´imagination´. 

It has many faces, as many as there are wounded and fallen people. 

Each person bears some wound within him- or herself, though not all are visible. 

I heartily bless your works of charity, even those done personally and spontaneously. I bless those who open their minds and hearts, their homes and resources to the sick, the elderly, the unemployed, the homeless, the immigrants, all the poor, the suffering and the marginalized, and the children who need homes and families. It is in this way that the Church takes on her most evangelical face, that of the Good Samaritan, who does not want to and cannot be indifferent.

Bishop Tymieniecki knew how to unite in himself the courage of Mercy and the courage of Ecumenism. He chose the path of ecumenism long before the Catholic Church officially embarked on it. I urge you to keep alive in yourselves this courage of your first Pastor. 

To cherish ecumenical determination, remembering that ecumenism in the Church is not an optional or decorative thing, but an essential attitude. I encourage you to walk together, in theological reflection and evangelization, in common prayer and listening to the word of God, in the witness of fraternity. 

On this path you are building up the local society... 

which you proudly call the ´Community of the Four Cultures´.

The Jubilee is also an opportunity to make wishes. 

Therefore, it is my wish that you all come out of the experience of the Jubilee renewed as a Church. Renewed and strengthened for evangelization. 

May the Holy Spirit help you to interpret the new challenges that time places before you. 

To discern the appropriate tools to face them. 

I wish you credibility, consistency and attractive force in witness, that you may experience and cultivate increasingly fraternal relations in your Church.

To be a beautiful Church that lives in an ´outgoing´ way. 

That like leaven, ferments all the dough. 

That has the strength of the mustard seed... 

which is the smallest... 

yet becomes a tree in which birds are able to nest.

It does not mean that Light and Darkness have the same intensity in Creation.

I come to call you to awaken the Christic flame within you.

As ordinary humanity seeks advancement in creating new technologies that hypnotize and subjugate beings even more, I call you to discover the truth about who you are, and why you came into the world.

Today I tell you, companions, that this incessant search for power and manipulation, is the result of a seed that you brought from the universe, where there are also spirits that seek nothing more than their own mental development and ways to conquer consciousness through material power and strength. 

But I tell you that greater than these two energies... 

is the Invincible Love of Christ.

Love is unknown to those...

who only seek their own material growth... 

because if they knew the true essence of Love, they would know that there is no greater wealth than the virtues that are consolidated in the hearts of those who abandon themselves. 

They would also know that there is no greater kingdom to be conquered than the Kingdom of God, which is found within each being that opens itself to live the Love above all things.

Today I will answer a question that many ask when observing the evils of the world: 

“Where is God? How can He allow these things?”

Know that the evils of the world are caused by the lack of control of the forces...

that the human beings of the planet brought from the universe... 

so that they could be cured by the power of Love... 

that can be lived here.

Especially in the present day... 

these uncontrolled energies will emerge from the consciousnesses... 

and the chaotic forces will stimulate their growth in beings. 

If you have a pure heart, strengthened by the power of prayer... 

you will be able to balance these forces... 

with the Light generated by your own redeeming spirit.

If you open yourself to live Love... 

beyond your own mental judgment... 

and beyond all the degenerate teaching you received hereditary... 

you will be able to overcome all the darkness that dwells in your beings...

This is a very lonely fight.

You must love madly the surrender of the Lord on the Cross... 

to want to imitate His steps. 

Moreover, as you will not die on the Cross like He did, everything you live will be small and little in the face of the greatness of His Love. 

And it is here that you will find the bravery and the courage... 

not to impose limits on your self-giving.

Read the Gospel, pray, be silent. 

Seek to awaken within you the love I speak to you about. 

And do not be afraid to be different and to feel things differently...

All the instructions I bring you, are to appease [sussen] the Justice that will descend on the world. 

But for this, you must not only find the words of the Messengers of God beautiful... 

but also live them. 

If not, what good is it for us to come into the world?

in the divine hope that at least one soul will listen... 

and live what I have to say and teach.

As a Luminous Bird... 

I come to bring you Good News, which from Heaven reaches Earth. 

I come to announce to you, My children, the arrival of the Holy Spirit in your lives... 

a Spirit who comes to renew and redeem the hearts that define themselves at this time as eternal soldiers of My Peace. 

I come from Heaven, at the request of the Lord, to encourage those who have not yet been able to take the first step. 

I come to awaken from sleep those who are asleep. 

I come to convert into praying souls and peacemaking spirits those who only suffer, who suffer and do not find the way out of themselves.

My children, we are in a defining moment for your lives. 

My Heart took you by the hands until here... 

and now My Son also received the Grace to guide you... 

before His second return to this Earth. 

This is the time of brave hearts. 

The warrior spirits that announce their names before My army... 

so that together with Me, they walk in march towards the Light.

The Spirit of God will come, but it will make His abode only in firm columns... 

in deep-rooted trees that do not fear strong winds.

Who will really trust My words when they are denied?

Those who will overcome themselves for God...

and will make His Love triumph... 

I wait in prayer, without time, without fatigue. 

Because the world needs it.
