vandaar zijn prachtige titel 'The Bard of Mary'.
in Uffizi...
Filippino Lippi
In 1115, 25 jaar oud...
Giastin was beginning to have a relationship of special friendship with Jesus.
She was sorry to see him suffer on the cross and kept Him company by telling Him what she lived every day. Together with her sister Rosaria, she told Him jokes and funny facts, to distract him from all the pain that people normally pour on him. In doing so, they were sure that Jesus would always go to see them to have fun.
Out of curiosity...
to understand everything that was written...
Giastin asked her sister to teach her to read and write when she was only five years old and she soon became passionate about daily reading of the Gospel for children.
From the age of four, she showed a great passion for drawing, making her prefer colors to toys. Her days went by happily, devoted to drawing and writing, but above all to her friends, who populated our home, and to the great love of her sister Rosaria, to whom she was very attached.
When her beloved sister died in 1996, Giastin was nine years old, and to her great chagrin, she abandoned all her passions for four years and then resumed them with great enthusiasm.
she began a passionate study of the artists most congenial to her, Monet and especially Van Gogh.
She painted and wrote a lot, so much so that in 2002 San Marco in Lamis hosted the first exhibition of her paintings entitled 'Il Volo', revived in Rignano Garganico in August of the same year.
She began to collaborate with the beatitutdo.it site in the section dedicated to children, called Beatitudokids, where she shared her passions and her discoveries, and offered a reflection on the values of life.
In June 2003, she proposed to San Marco, Apricena and Rignano Garganico a new exhibition entitled '…E Continuo A Volare...' [and I keep flying].
In 2003 she published a collection of poems and prayers presented to high school students in the town's municipal library, an event filmed and broadcast by RAI.
On February 21st, 2004, Giastin flew to heaven, and on June 4th and 5th of the same year, in Foggia, at Palazzo Dogana, the retrospective entitled 'Giastin racconta' was held, re-proposed in Otranto at the Diocesan Museum on June 19th.
Subsequently, the exhibition was hosted in Torremaggiore, in Rignano Garganico, in San Giovanni Rotondo (all in 2005) and in Sternatia (in August 2007).
Like for Christmas, she already started in September for the decorations to be made.
Because every year, the crib theme was different, and so the tree changed style too.
She never got bored.
In the evening, when I said to her: 'Giastin, I'll put you to bed', she replied: 'Why are the days so short?' I looked at her, and laughing I said: 'Giastin, you are unique, I believe that the good Lord threw the mold after creating you.'
She laughed out loud replying: 'Sure mom, He wants me unique in the world!'
and became the director of several convents of sisters...
for whom he wrote various treatises on piety, and a commentary on the Canticle of Canticles.
He also composed hymns, one being the first hymn in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Anthony van Dyck
His life was one of continuous penance...
and he suffered strong temptations and physical illnesses.
He was afflicted by incessant headaches that only ceased when he approached the altar to celebrate Mass. Their intensity used to increase with the approach of Feast Days. In a play on words, he used to say: Festa sunt mihi infesta ["Feast Days are devastating for me"].
He had great sympathy for afflicted persons...
who always found in him a warm welcome and secure refuge.

The whole life of St. Herman was filled with visions and ecstasies.
Until his last day he enjoyed a continuous familiarity with the supernatural.
He had under his charge the spiritual welfare of the Cistercian nuns at Hoven, near Zulpich.
Here he died and was buried in the cloister.
Later his body was found incorrupt.
For it was transferred to Steinfeld, where his marble tomb can be seen to the present day.
Portions of his relics are at Cologne and at Antwerp.
She very softly sang a beautiful melody and these words:
“Ora pro nobis, Ora pro nobis”...
Listen to My Voice that asks you for more prayer.
Listen to My Voice that clamors for more prayer from the heart.
Sing to contemplate the Heart of My Son and My Immaculate Heart.
Sing to elevate your souls towards the spaces where We, the Messengers of God, are.
And there, we will teach you to contemplate the Consciousness of God...
so that in this way the Source of Mercy and Forgiveness for humanity may descend.
Sing, so that your souls may quickly arrive in the planes where Light and Peace...
share with the angels, that eternally praise Our Lord.
If you did this, you would contemplate with the heart the Kingdom of the Heavens.
Sing, together with the Angels praise the Kingdom of Our Father...
and see your consciousnesses converted into divine Light.
I know that you little understand what I tell you.
But those who seek to accomplish these My requests, as the Divine Word pronounced for My little creatures, will get to know one of the universal mysteries that have always been available for the Children of God.
Elevate your prayers as Celestial Music towards Heaven...
and the Lord will listen with immense gratitude to your song of the heart.
Offer your talent, the one that God has given you, so that through the Creator Word the essences and the souls of humanity which suffer in dark places may be rescued by Me and by My Angels.
This melody of love will open the doors of the abysses...
and there I will enter to rescue My children that are lost.
Elevate yourselves, My children.
Elevate yourselves through the Word made Celestial Music...
and find in it a sacred instrument of love and redemption.
I wait for you in the Kingdom of Heavens to play this sacred instrument, and to have you travel together with Me through the unfathomable abysses where My other children wait for an opportunity to return home.
"St. JPII spoke of the need for a new evangelization...
addressed to all those who, although they have heard talk of the faith, no longer appreciate, no longer know the BEAUTY of Christianity; on the contrary, at times they even view it as an obstacle to achieving happiness. One reason the church exists, is that our hunger for BEAUTY will not go away.
We cannot emphasize enough about the importance of BEAUTY in service of evangelization. The Sistine Chapel Ceiling, the Sainte Chapelle, Dante’s Divine Comedy, Bach’s St. Matthew’s Passion, T.S. Eliot’s Four Quartets, and the Cathedral of Chartres all have an extraordinary convincing power, in many ways surpassing that of formal arguments.
So I affirm the Path of Truth and the Path of Beauty.
I’m convinced that, at this moment, we need good arguments...
