Lent, children, is a time of desert...
but also of encounter.
A time to meet with the spirit of humility...
with the vastness of the Universe...
with the sublime Laws that make us small...
with the Thought of God...
that makes us so fragile before His Will.
Lent is the time to walk in the immensity [onmetelijkheid] of the Divine Words...
written in the Book of God's Plan for this humanity.
To understand that on these lines you must walk...
and that Heavenly Father's letters are like marks on the ground...
into which your feet fit perfectly.
Just follow them.
During Lent, false beliefs about oneself...
and all the strongholds built on the sand of the human ego...
are torn down.
All this collapses.
Frailty reveals itself.
But also, child, God reveals himself.
You must learn to live the Lent...
in which the consciousness sets out to find...
what is sublime and perfect...
and what, even if all the apparent human misery is revealed...
brings you the security of the Divine Presence...
and the freedom to know that everything is written.
And for the one who walks in the letters of God...
despite all the battles, challenges and trials...
will be the incalculable triumph of the Love of his Lord...
which has no measures in this world but vastness.
Lent, then, is that moment...
of recognizing the dust...
and leaving to the dust what comes from it.
But also to recognize the spirit...
and open the way for that spirit...
to express itself in all that you are.
Live Lent to the fullest.
Feel small, fragile, nothing.
But be able to surrender that smallness...
before the greatness of God...
and confess:
Lord,
I recognize my frailty and misery
I recognize my imperfection and illusion
and made complete nothing and dust, here I am
as an offering on the Altar of Your Spirit
so that He may reveal Himself within me
and Your Breath, out of the clay, may make Life
and Your Life may be fully in me
so that I may become your instrument
and Your Will be done.
Amen.
This must be the prayer...
of hearts surrendered before the desert...
ready, in Lent with the Lord, to prepare with Him...
for the cross of the world.
You have My blessing for that.
The Most Chaste
Saint Joseph
