Our world in El Salvador is not an abstraction.
It is not an example of what is meant by 'the world' in developed countries like yours.
It is a world made up in the vast majority of poor and oppressed men and women.
That world of the poor, we say...
is the key to understand the Christian faith, the church’s activity, and the political dimension of the faith and the church’s activity.
The poor are the ones who tell us what the world is...
and what service the church must offer to the world.
