but they also remind us that bhakti, while it is not anti-body, at its best is not anti-mind either. These are extraordinarily intelligent women, using all the possibilities one can imagine of poetic craft that is at their command - and those are considerable...

For me they remind me that bhakti is less the refuge of the neurotic, and the overwrought, it's much more a very destabilizing, a very disruptive technology that these women consciously seize. They seem to remind us that it is a very radical, a very profoúnd science of the heart."
