mind: focus!

It is only through that mind that you can truly attain what you are looking for. Without that mind, you can't.

Why do you think God has given you the mind? Do you think He is a fool?... He is the greatest architect, you know. He has given you only one mind. Imagine if He would have given you several...

The clever Lord has given you one mind so that you can choose. If you are wise enough, you will focus the mind upon Him. But if you are not wise, you will focus your mind on everything else that He has created.

So you have the Creator, and you have Maya. These are the two worlds, there is no other. You focus upon the world, you will attain the world. You focus on God, you will attain Him.

That's why he said to Arjuna: "Do what you have to do!" he didn't say that you should stop living. He didn't say that you should stop working. Carry on doing you duty, doing your work.

Like the gopis, they were doing their work continuously, they will attend to their husband, to their children, fulfilling their daily duties, but their mind was on Krishna. Nowhere else was their mind.

THEIR MIND WAS NOT ON THEMSELF. Very often you wee people say: "Oh, I have done this, I have done that"... Their mind is so focused upon thém. Yet they claim themselves to be spiritual!

The gopis were not like that! That's why the gopis are said to be the highest devotees of the Lord. Because their mind is only about Krishna. WHATEVER THEY DO WAS TO PLEASE KRISHNA, NOT TO PLEASE THEMSELVES.

That's why when Krishna called them, they said: "You called us, we came, but our life is for You, nothing else, whatever we do, it's for You!" Such was the surrender they had.

Their surrender was not just plainly like that...

But that mind was fully absorbed into Him.
