rosaria 1

Rosaria's relationship with God...

began to deepen thanks to her little sister Giastin

With her, she kept company with Jesus Who was alone and sad on the cross: while everyone told Him their unhappiness, the two of them decided to make Him laugh with jokes and funny stories. They said that Jesus was happy to be in their house, because He could laugh.

Compared to Giastin...

Rosaria over time cultivated a more intimate and profound relationship with God the Father, Whom she wanted to console for the pain of the loss of His Son Jesus, always resorting [haar toevlucht nemend] to play and sympathy.

She lived her days in joy with her friends, her parents, her sister Giastin, whom she loved very much and to whom she acted as a mother, and then with her little brother Cosimo, and put a lot of effort into her studies. In January 1996, when she was in the sixth grade, she won a special prize in the school competition 'Handicap as a reason for growth of the social spirit'.

She had many interests.

Especially reading, music and singing.

Temperamentally, she was as sweet and joyful as she was strong and firm in her ideas.

She was fearless and courageous and one of her favorite literary genres was horror, because she found it funny, ridiculous. She loved all kinds of music, and even listened to it while she studied to concentrate better.

One day she asked a chorister [koorzanger] to teach her to sing...

because she wanted to praise God with singing.

She was part of the Azione Cattolica [Catholic Action] and she dreamed of becoming an ACR educator one day. Her group came to our house to make the meetings, and since after listening to her talks no one could say anything anymore, she decided to always intervene last, so that everyone could express themselves.

Rosaria rose to heaven on March 28th, 1996...

at the age of fifteen, on the same day, of the same month, and at the same time, when in 1982, fourteen years earlier, in the clinic in Düsseldorf, she had been given only two more months to live.
