after organizing a raid around the village... 

one Skorobogatov summoned the local residents to a general meeting in the evening, and in his address to them, said: "We came to the village to punish you for harboring deserters." 

He made it clear to the peasants, that they were a punishment detachment led by a court martial that could assess and shoot those who were guilty. Then the inhabitants of Puzinsk were told, that they had to receive compensation: 80,000 rubles for the first farming community and 70,000 rubles for the second. This money had to be collected within eight hours, and if the farmers did not pay on time, the most severe measures would be taken against them. 

After the meeting, the farmers dispersed to their village councils.

The temporary headquarters of the punishment detachment was located in the local teacher's house, where a meeting of activists was gathered, and where the meeting of the troika took place, at which it was decided to execute Dunya and her companions.

During the stay, the soldiers of the Red Army behaved scandalous in peasant farms: they took away milk, eggs and chickens without paying their costs. Some residents were subjected to house searches, at the discretion of the Red Army soldiers themselves or at the instigation of their fellow villagers. During the searches, the soldiers behaved very rudely towards the peasants, intimidating them with whips and weapons and taking things with them. 

Soldiers also searched Dunya's house... 

because some of her neighbors indicated that the deserter Ilya Nemtsov had visited her... 

and that he should be sought here. 

The soldiers began to knock on the door and on the windows. One of the comapnions ran to faithful farmers for help. When they all came back, they ran to the house. But the Red Army soldiers wouldn't let them in. After whipping them away, they locked the door. 

Some saw through the window how this search was taking place. The soldier threw prosphora and oil in Dunya's face as he spoke to her bad words. Then he scattered all the icons in the red corner. After he climbed into the cupboard, where there were several food supplies, a rat bit him in the hand. Then he literally went mad, dragged Dunya off the couch and started beating her. 

The bullying of Dunya lasted for several days. The Red Army soldiers beat her with whips and trampled her.
