On November 11th, 1986, feast of San Martino... 

the Crucifix in the prayer room in Renato's house begins to spread perfume. 

The perfume invaded the whole house.

A short time later... 

the cross of the second station of the Via Crucis... 

a cross made with two acacia trunks... 

also began to perfume. 

Currently, this cross is kept in a transparent case near the Cenacle. 

One night in March 1987, unknown persons smeared this cross with mistletoe or glue. 

Two people cleaned it with rags [vodden], soaked in white spirit. 

After cleaning, their hands and the tea towels smelled of the same perfume as the cross.

In August 1987... 

at the end of the Via Crucis on the Mount of Christ... 

in a very short apparition, the Madonna warned Renato... 

that they were profaning the cross. 

The men rushed down from the mountain towards the house of the Cenacle about 3 km away. 

The door of the chapel had been forced open and the cross stolen. 

After some research and following the scent that emanated from the cross, they found it leaning against the fence of the park, and saw two cars on the road that were moving away at full speed: evidently the criminals had had to give up, so as not to be caught in the act.
